There’s all kinds of information out there about the luxury condominium market.

What many buyers don’t know, is that while markets may shift, there is always a way to come out on top, especially with the right knowledge. Below are five of the most important things to keep in mind when you’re looking to navigate the luxury condominium real estate market.

1.They’re Bountiful In Space

Despite some myths, luxury condominiums offer spacious rooms and floorplans for the lifestyle you’re looking for. Some residences at BLVD Sarasota, for example, will have up to 3,900 sq. feet of air-conditioned space. A flow through floor plan allows residents to enjoy that space without impediments as well.

2.They’re Close To The City’s Best

Downtown condominiums are unmatched in their proximity to great dining, shopping, and entertainment venues. BLVD Sarasota is right within the edges of Sarasota’s artsy Rosemary District and even has an in-house restaurant owned by a celebrity chef on the first floor!

3.Ease of Access

One detail about condominium living that is often overlooked, but incredibly valuable, is how easy it is to get to and from your building. Without having to search for parking or even walk very far to get to your destination, it’s easier than ever to start your next great adventure.

4.For All Ages

Another part of the excitement is that you’re close to not just a great lifestyle, but people who want to live a lifestyle like yours. The full supply of local events means that there are multiple opportunities to get out and meet your neighbors. There’s something for everyone here.

5.Now’s the Time

When you keep these facts in the back of your mind, the luxury condominium real estate market can be a valuable investment that’s worth participating in and offers an incredible lifestyle. Who could turn one down? That’s why in today’s market, action is a necessity. The newest residences can leave the market as soon as they’re on them, thanks to their convenient features, great location, and excellent design.

BLVD Sarasota, one of the most exciting new high rises on the Gulf Coast, is rising quickly and being bought up just as fast, especially since it’s complete up to the 11th floor. Top off is now scheduled for July!

It’s no surprise that the residents of Sarasota have a deep appreciation for art and culture. The city’s history has been influenced by true artisans, from the minimalist styles of Chelsea Dunbar to the sharp aesthetics of Sarasota Modern that was forged by the likes of Castner & Castner. Sarasota has evolved to be somewhat of a destination for creatives in interior design of all styles and schools. Three, in particular, stand out on Sarasota’s social scene for their impact on the area’s design, both past and present.

Chelsea Dunbar

The first thing that stands out when you view one of the layouts from Dunbar’s designers is how she applies minimalist aesthetics to her floor plans. Utilizing pops of darker colors in a light room is one of her favorite tricks – it grants depth to an area, allowing them to make a room seem even bigger. Another is utilizing the color scheme of the area outside of the residence. The work that her interior design group, Blu Interiors, has recently done brings in the blues, taupes, and creams of the waterfront, the land, and the sky outside. Dunbar and her designs have even appeared on HGTV’s Property Brothers on multiple occasions.

Castner & Castner

Founded in 1979, this father and son duo have been taking on the Manatee County area by storm with both their unique furniture offerings and their luxurious approach to style and design. Flipping through their look book, you’ll find a combination of everything from mod to French countryside, with a touch of British Isles-type design. Their secret lies in being a local staple for years. This has allowed them to really learn about their customer, their likes and dislikes, their approach to color and design, and what their principal aesthetics. When your buyer is your neighbor, it’s easier to create something beautiful for them!

Kurt Lucas

Known for his incorporation of pops of color into bold contemporary designs, Lucas has cut a prominent figure in Sarasota’s interior design scene. As the president of JKL Design Group, he certainly should. Many of Sarasota’s finest keep an eye on what Lucas takes interest in regarding aesthetics, as it’s sure to take on Sarasota’s scene in a few months. His pioneering approach to shape and color is what makes him perfect for some of Sarasota’s most daring new projects.

You can find Lucas’ mark on some of Sarasota’s most prominent buildings, from the industrial-meets-contemporary style of Dry Dock Waterfront Grill to the coastal design that dominates Summer House Steak & Seafood. One place that exhibits Lucas’ tastes like nowhere else is the new luxury residence center on the edge of Sarasota’s trendy downtown: BLVD Sarasota. A clean white exterior shells an interior that’s crafted with natural color palettes and designer details. Those attuned to the intricacies of interior design would notice features such as marble, quartz, and granite countertop options for the bathrooms, and expansive windows that reach from floor to ceiling in the living rooms.

Did you know that Sarasota is a treasure trove of mid-century modern architecture? Here’s a look at some of the most interesting houses in Southern Florida.

Known for its breakaway from previously established schools, Modern architecture is hailed as a daring approach to shape, color, and flexibility within design. The area of Sarasota can trace its roots in architecture approximately 60 years back. The school of Architecture helped establish a fundamental modern design style that accommodated Florida’s weather. Darker colors were replaced with shades of white to create a natural contrast against the tropical greens of the lush landscape. Extra concrete shapes were cut for visual appeal and to make the buildings easier to cool. Design pieces such as unfinished wood and rare splashes of vibrant colors added a more natural feel to the aesthetics. Here are some examples of some local favorites, old and new.

The Umbrella House

This 50’s era home was designed by Paul Rudolph, who sought to build a house that aligned with Florida’s indoor/outdoor relaxed way of life. White and brown overlays establish an earthy organic color scheme. A canopy styled roof (where the building gets its name) provides shelter from sun and rain while enjoying the outdoor patio. This three -thousand-square-foot canopy of slatted wood almost floats above the house, patio, and pool.

Putterman House

Designed by Carl Abbot in the mid-80s, this house embraces both the simplicity of the Modern School and the drama of the Brutalism School. Expansive spaces and sharply cut shapes emphasize natural design details, such as a crystal blue pool, a wooden deck, and artfully placed flora in the front yard.

BLVD Sarasota

Following on the footsteps of Sarasota’s architectural predecessors this iconic tower, located in the heart of downtown Sarasota, hosts an edgy contemporary design scheme. The sharp cubed shapes that cut into the sky act as somewhat of a homage to the historical architectural heritage that surrounds it. The interior space utilizes a combination of sleek isometric styled furniture and natural design elements, such as wood paneling and metallic colors.

Sarasota’s newest iconic building, BLVD Sarasota, nearly halfway under contract, exhibits stunning modern architecture and panoramic views. Starting at $1.9 million with residences ranging from 3,630 sq. feet to 5,900 sq. feet, BLVD Sarasota is designed to accommodate residents with a select set of amenities, ranging from an infinity pool that overlooks the city, to an indoor golf simulator on the fifth level.
