A firm owned by developer Kevin Daves bought buildings at 540 North Tamiami Trail for $5.4 million.

Another project may be slated for the corridor next to the former Sarasota Quay, as the developer behind the Ritz-Carlton, has bought two downtown buildings on U.S. 41.

Kevin Daves, using the firm The Blvd Sarasota LLC, bought the former CoCENTRIX property at 540 North Tamiami Trail for $5.4 million last month. Three parcels involved in the transaction total roughly 36,000 square feet.
Daves, president of Core Development, did not respond to multiple calls for comment.

Along with co-developing the Ritz, Core also built the tony Concession in east Manatee County, and has pitched plans for the $200 million Cassia Cay on South Tamiami Trail and partnered with Palsar Development to propose an 18-story condominium building near the intersection of U.S. 41 and Fruitville Road.

Across the street from the CoCENTRIX property, GreenPointe Communities plans to develop up to 695 condominiums and 175 hotel rooms, along with retail and office space as part of the $1 billion Sarasota Bayside project, and Kolter Group is nearly finished with the VUE Sarasota Bay on the same stretch of road. Jebco Ventures is currently building an Embassy Suites within the same corridor.
